As a Nigerian I am no stranger to corporal punishment, but there is a very clear line after which corporal punishment turns into abuse.
This makes me so angry. Especially the reason the father gave for doing this. So what? Your child doesn't know how old he is. If he doesn't know, tell him. He's only five years old for goodness' sake.
I am convinced this man has a mental problem.
Poor kid. They should be taken away from him and placed with a family that love them for the gifts that they are.
Update: So I was reading the comments on the post, and of course everyone was infuriated at the evil man and his disgusting behaviour, and everything was going so well... until I saw this comment.

ReplyDeleteand...somehow i believe this was not even written by a Chinese person. it's a comment from Chinasmack isn't it? that site is catered to English-speaking people, i'm yet to meet a Chinese person who knows the "popular news" that website talks about (the story is different when it comes to ChinaHush though). anyway the internet is always an annoying place. people who leave racist comments know they cannot say it in real life...

He has them in quotation marks because he can't write grammatically correct English well. Most of the comments on these websites are like this with punctuation marks in strange places conveying emotions that are completely at odds with the written words.
If this was the first time, maybe I'd agree with you. But this is like the thousandth time. I've wised up since then.
This is quite revealing. I'd never thought racism is that pronounced there.
