What a Shitty Weekend
The events of this weekend / last week just drained all my energy. You'd have to have been living under a rock to not have heard about the four students that were beaten and burned to death in Aluu in Rivers on the suspicion of theft.
Of course they weren't thieves and they weren't cultists. They were just normal students in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I think when horrible things like this happen, it induces a lot of national navel gazing and we as Nigerians remember why we hate this country and why it needs to change, but in the end, nothing ever really changes.
This wasn't the first burning of people in Nigeria and it probably won't be the last. Why on earth a human being should be treated worse in death than any animal slaughtered is beyond understanding.
Sadly, I honestly am unconvinced that this will be the last burning of a person in Nigeria.
There are too many animals parading as human beings in this country for it to be the last.
No, that's insulting to animals. I don't even know what these people are.
